  • The purpose of the Black Issues Forum is to provide students an opportunity to demonstrate their written and oral communication skills and to enhance their leadership potential. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with university faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students as they discuss and evaluate the important issues of today that affect the African American community at the local, state, national, and/or global level.Benefits of attending BIF:Earn one college credit at no charge for the course “Blacks in Higher Education”Participate in small peer group discussions of current issues affecting the African American communityExperience working in a university library and train in research methodsInteract with faculty, staff and currently enrolled students of Colorado State UniversityReside in University residence hallsTake part in social activities, including:Awards banquetRecreation activitiesAn evening of cultural expression and open mic night
